Classes

Ballet

Ages: 13+


Class length: 1 – 1 1/4 hours


The foundation of all dance forms. This class focuses on the body awareness and strength needed to maintain proper alignment, rotation, and foundational technique. Class typically includes a classical ballet barre, center exercises, and grande allegro across the floor. Level 3 and above are required to take ballet twice per week. The program will include terminology, anatomy, and choreography.


BALLET TECHNIQUE

Required and assigned for Ballet 3/4X, 4X, and 4/5X.

Class length: 1 hour - 1 hour 15 mins

This class is an additional class for the higher-level ballet students to hone in on their technique. Students in Level 3+ are required to take this supplemental class. Students who are enrolled in a Teen Level 1 or 2 class have the option to enroll. This class will not present any work at recital time as its main focus is to enforce ballet barre & center work.

Jazz

Ages: 13+


Class length: 1 - 1 1/4 hours


Jazz classes will include a warm-up, center technique, across-the-floor progressions, and typically ends with choreography. This style of dance includes powerful and energetic movement with strong lines and precise isolations.


Jazz Levels 2/3X, 3/4X, 4X, and 4/5X must also take TLC (Turns, Leaps, Conditioning) class in conjunction with their Jazz class.


TLC is a non-recital class is geared toward dancers interested in taking their technique to the next level. Required for all jazz dancers level 3 & higher. The curriculum works to increase mobility, stability, balance, stamina, and overall strength. Refining and advancing skills for all turns and leap progressions will be a focus in this class. Placement approval is needed.

Pointe

 Pre- Pointe / Conditioning
Age: 10+

Pointe
Age: 13+ * permission only

Class length: 60 minutes

Dancers must have completed at least 2 years of consecutive ballet training and be registered for a level 3 class to be eligible for consideration. Once a formal email is received by the Education Directors, our ballet instructors will evaluate the student for approval. Pointe is a specialized ballet class where dancers use Pointe shoes to dance on the tips of their toes. Students must be able to show sufficient strength in core, proper alignment, hip rotation, as well as leg/ankle/foot strength and mobility.

Tap

Ages: 13+

Class length: 1 hour
This form of dance teaches students the basic fundamentals of musicality and skills leading to advanced rhythms and syncopation. Students develop coordination of mind and body and a more perceptive sense of rhythm, timing, and phrasing.

Contemporary

Ages: 13+

Class length: 1 hour

Contemporary is known for being the fusion of many dance styles, including ballet, jazz, and hip hop, with a strong foundation in modern technique. Classes will include a warm-up, center technique, across-the-floor progressions, and choreography. Through structured improvisation, students will explore artistic expression, articulation of the spine, body initiations, and musicality. Other concepts introduced in this genre include partner work, weight bearing, counterbalance, and floorwork.

A high-energy class that includes hip hop grooves, footwork, foundational drills, and freestyle.. The majority of this class is spent learning a variety of styles through choreography.

Musical Theater 

Ages: 13+
 
Class length: 1 hour

This style introduces its 3 core elements: acting, singing, and dancing. Classes include a vocal warm-up, acting exercises, basic jazz technique, and choreography. Emphasis is placed on developing stage directions, self-confidence, character building, and facial expressions for acting. Focus is placed on breath, tone, and projection for singing.

Acro

Age: 10+ * permission only

Class length: 1 hour

Acro 1 - This class serves as an introduction to Acro skills that can be a great asset in a dancer’s training, while enhancing self-esteem, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, form, and focus. Students will fine-tune their basic tumbling skills while focusing on their form through weekly strength and flexibility training to ensure injury prevention and technical execution. Students will be introduced to preparation drills for the following skills: front and back walkovers, side aerials, chin stands, and shoulder stands. 

Acro 2 & 3 - Acro classes incorporate gymnastic-based tricks with fluidity and flexibility of dance technique. Students work on enhancing self-esteem, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, form, and focus through their weekly strength and flexibility training. Students will build upon their Acro skills through different variations and more complex progressions. The strength and flexibility progressions prepare the students to execute skills, such as: Valdez, Rose Plop, Flip flop variations, Tinsica, front aerials.

Turns/Leaps/
Conditioning (TLC) 

Ages: 13+

Class length: 1 - 1 1/4 hours

  (Must be enrolled in a second-year ballet or jazz; placement approval is needed)
This non-recital class is geared toward dancers interested in taking their technique to the next level. Required for all jazz dancers level 3 & higher. The curriculum works to increase mobility, stability, balance, stamina, and overall strength. Refining and advancing skills for all turns and leap progressions will be a focus in this class. Placement approval is needed.

Programming 2026-2027


Xcelerated Program (X level classes)

The Xcelerated Program is designed for experienced students ages 8–18 who are seeking more rigorous training. Participants are expected to cross-train in at least one additional dance genre to support their overall growth. These classes move at an accelerated pace, with higher expectations for accountability, retention, and consistent application of corrections. All 24/7 Dance programming follows an educational curriculum and offers progress reports twice per season. Genres include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, TLC, and Hip Hop. Admission to this program requires pre-approval from our Education Directors.

Core Program (A and B level classes):

The Core Program is designed for students ages 8–18 who are seeking a structured, syllabus-based dance education across a variety of genres. All 24/7 Dance programming follows an educational curriculum and offers progress reports twice per season. The Core Program offers flexibility, allowing students to enroll in as many or as few classes as desired, while providing the opportunity to progress through levels over time. Classes include Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Acro, and Hip Hop.
