Front Desk Staff / Seamstress
Stephanie Hyder has a BA in Fashion Design and Minor in Studio Arts from Marymount University of DC. Growing up in Annapolis she danced off and on at Maryland Hall and college was no different. She enjoyed being a part of the Marymount Dance Team all four years while learning the skillsets of sewing and exploring her creativity.
As part of the front desk staff as well as the in-house seamstress for 24/7, she loves meeting new students, connecting with parents, and helping dancers feel comfortable and confident in their recital costumes. She has Costume Designed the last 7 years for local theaters including Maryland Ensemble Theater in downtown Frederick, Fredericktowne Players and McDaniel College. Her film work as a Costume Designer includes past promotional videos for Flying Dog Brewery, a 3D feature black and white film 'Leda', and Wardrobe Coordinator for local production company DUO Media Productions. She has designed and wardrobed various local 72 FilmFest projects the past 7 years for the multi-award winning team Star Wipe Films and won the Best Costume Award in 2019 for their film 'Capsule' and again in 2023 for their film "Horizon". Prior to her designing days she was on the Marketing Team and a tour guide for Flying Dog for 3 years, and the Senior Motorclothes Personal Shopper for Harley-Davidson of Annapolis for 5 years, helping bikers find appropriate functional safety gear to meet their riding needs.
Currently she has a small business, Unicorn Nature (play on words Unique Ornature), offering handmade fashion and costume pieces, custom wedding attire, artwork, and local DIY and Creative Wellness Workshops. One in particular wedding dress, made from an upcycled vintage lace table cloth was featured in an article on theknot.com.
For the last 6 years she has enjoyed watching her sons take the stage in the annual 24/7 Dance Studio Recital weekend in June, and has been a student herself for the last 10 years in the Adult Program performing Hip Hop, Tap, Ballet and Contemporary. Stephanie is looking forward to being a part of such a wonderful studio of talented artists as it continues to grow.
