Dance Instructor

As a practitioner for the past decade, Melissa Jones has worked as a choreographer, educator, and performer, gaining invaluable experiences across diverse and varied settings. Having worked in the public and private education sectors, she has vast knowledge adapting instruction to meet the needs of all ages and skill levels. Specializing in jazz dance, Jones performed with Dancin’ Unlimited Jazz Dance Company in Northern Virginia for six years. Additionally, she is certified in the Giordano Technique from basic through the advanced level. Jones holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance from James Madison University and a Master of Arts Degree in Dance Education from Towson University. Her graduate research was centered around jazz dance advocacy, specifically increasing its prevalence and inclusion in US higher education dance programs.
