Debra Thompson

Debra was born and raised in NJ, where she started gymnastics at the age of 3.  She was in competitive gymnastics for 5 years before transitioning to competitive cheer and and dance.  Debra started choreographing for her high school dance team when she was just in middle school and continued choreographing for Pascack Valley HS in Hillsdale, NJ, with her sister Dena Noone, for the 20 years following.  Her routines often won 1st place at NDA High School Nationals throughout her tenure. She was chosen for the University of Maryland Dance Team where she enjoyed dancing at the football and basketball games and trained under Stephanie Jojokian (known for her work as the Director of the Redskin Cheerleaders and the Co-founder of Capital Movement Inc.). She also competed with her team at NDA College Nationals. While in college, Debra traveled the country as a dance instructor with Universal Dance Association (UDA) and National Dance Alliance (NDA) where she taught and performed in California, Washington, New Mexico, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, and Maryland.  After graduating from the University of Maryland, Debra was assistant coach of the University of Maryland Dance Team for 2 years. For the last 20 years Debra has been a high school special education teacher with Montgomery County Public Schools which has afforded her many opportunities to choreograph and coach students and faculty. She organizes the variety show at Wilson Wims ES and has enjoyed choreographing for her 3 daughters and watching them perform together on stage. Debra is excited to start her journey at 24/7 Dance studio.
