Company Dance Concert 2019
24/7 Dance Studio’s PRIDE performing company students celebrate the company’s 17th anniversary by performing in 2 shows on Sunday, March 10, 2019. The Student Repertory Company is dedicated to serving the community by educating, performing, and promoting children in the arts. The performances will be held at the Jack B. Kussmaul Theater at Frederick Community College, 7932 Oppossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD.
“24/7 Dance Company Concert” will have two completely different shows, with a 1:00 matinee and a 6:00 evening performance. The performances will consist of group dances and solos, with styles in Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Musical Theater, Hip Hop, and Ballet, which will appeal to dance and theater enthusiasts alike! 2018 auditions have already happened. 2019 Company Auditions will be held at our Frederick, MD location from Monday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 12, 2019, according to age. Placement in company is by audition only. ***All Start at 5:00 pm*** Elementary… Monday, June 10 Middle School… Tuesday, June 11 High School… Wednesday, June 12 **You may be asked to return for the next day after your assigned time for additional placement.
All students will audition in all genres: Ballet, Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Tap, Acting, and Vocal. Bring all shoes and prepare a 16bar (~30 second) upbeat vocal selection. You may indicate genre preferences.
Be sure you begin warmed up and dressed in leotard and tights, with hair secured in a bun. The audition will consist of center technique, across the floor, and combinations. You may bring additional attire for hip hop/tap portions of the audition.
-Grades 1-3* should be able to chasse with opposite arms, chaine’ turn, know basic positions and terminology, and follow directions. -Grades 4-5* should be able to do a single pirouette on both sides, grand battements in all directions, chaine’ turns, and a leap. -Middle/High* school students should be able to execute double pirouettes, perform well, have knowledge of several turns/jumps/ leaps, and pick up choreography quickly. -Our High School level audition will be fast paced and intense. -All students are expected to bring a headshot and resume, $10 audition fee, to try their best in all genres, and perform. *Minimum technique requirements **Resume should include contact information.
