Zoey Cruz

Zoey Cruz began his dance career in 2004. He started at a local dance studio in Los Angeles where he began training in freestyle and hip hop. In 2005, he relocated to Washington DC and became a scholarship dancer with Culture Shock DC. Zoey then moved to Las Vegas a few years later to further his dance with Culture Shock Las Vegas. Through that experience, Zoey has had the privilege of working and sharing the stage with other mainstream dance companies and some A-list choreographers like Jesse Lee Santos, Jerry Slaughter and NappyTabs who’s credits range from Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Pink, Janet Jackson, America’s Best Dance Crew and So You Think You Can Dance. In 2008, He moved back to Los Angeles as a professional choreographer and dancer. He has worked nationally and internationally visiting several cities as a guest choreographer as well as assisting other dancers and dance groups. He is also a staff member and client with JLS Ent, a management company representing several commercial, industrial and mainstream artists. Zoey has also taught workshops with dancers from shows such as So You Think You Dance and America’s Best Dance Crew including Boogie Bots, Heavy Impact, Static Noyze, Iconic Boyz, Blue Print Cru, Poreotics, I Am Me Crew and Mos Wanted Crew. He has also been a featured choreographer/dancer for one of Philippines top TV networks GMA for some of their biggest stars. In 2010 he had the opportunity to hit the scene internationally, traveling to the Philippines for a workshop tour. He has Judged and featured choreography for World Of Dance showcase/competition Tour NYC presented by Paul Mitchell. In 2010 Zoey started his own production and management company Cruz Productions which provided entertainment, exposure and inspiration to the DMV dance community. Fall of 2011, Zoey was the featured guest choreographer for the Maryland Council Of Dance
“State DanceFest” 2011. He has also taught at several prestiges colleges such as George Town, Wagner College, University of Maryland, and Brown University. At the current year, Zoey is part of a network dance movement called STARFlEET with Jp Goldstein from Mos Wanted Crew; he is the east cost STARFlEET director. He is also the chair for Metropolitan School of the Arts’ Hip Hop department, and a new staff/instructor at Shenandoah University Dance Conservatory. Zoey is also an official World Of Dance network YouTube partner as a choreographer and has hosted one of the nation’s biggest Urban Hip Hop competition/showcase called Prelude Dance Competition. Fall/Winter of 2014, Zoey will be touring as a staff choreographer for a new nationwide convention called Ambition presented by World Class Talent Experience. With his past, current and future endeavors, Zoey hopes to grow as a dancer, choreographer, manager and entrepreneur.
