Gina Korrell

Gina has been teaching dance locally for the past 32 years, where she has directed and choreographed for many area dance companies, teams, organization and theater groups. She chaired the Frederick Arts Councils Dance Committee for 4 years. She played a vital role in establishing Frederick County’s first and only dance scholarship program and increasing funds for the dance programs in Frederick County. In 1997 She co-founded TAWA dance company.  Gina managed, danced and choreographed for TAWA for five years until the company moved to Pennsylvania in May of 2002. In the fall of 2002, Gina opened 24/7 Dance Studio. Gina also began 24/7 SRC Student Repertory Companies in 2002 which umbrella’s Dance Fusion dance company and Young Professionals Theater Company. This group is a non-profit performance company that provides pre professional training and performance opportunities for aspiring performers. The award winning company has grown to four levels and numerous students have won prestigious scholarships. In 2005 she danced and worked with Step Aside Tap Company in Silver Spring as a business manager to helping them promote the Company. She is a Past President of the Maryland Council for Dance where she solidified the restructure of the council. Gina is the founder of the K-Krew and R2DKrew Hip Hop Krews and the Tapology Tap Ensemble at 24/7.  She is the Executive Director of the 24/7’s PRIDE Student Performing  Company and she directs and produces TAPS ALIVE Workshops, Taps Alive Concert and the Xtreme 14 In10sive Workshops. She continues to teach and manage at her expanded studio. She looks forward to several new and exciting adventures in the future including regional dance productions, community outreach and continuing to develop healthy, happy strong dancers and educators.
