Important Date Change for Frederick Photo Day Photo Days for our Frederick studio are now scheduled for April 17 & 18. Please be sure to mark your calendars! 24/7 Young Professionals presents.....TWELFTH NIGHT Friday February 26 at 8:00 pm and Saturday, February 27at 2:00 and 7:00 pm at the Frederick Cultural Arts Center located on 15 W. Patrick St. in Frederick. Patrons most likely remember the 2006 romantic comedy "She's The Man." This quirky film of love and mistaken identity, where everyone has a secret was loosely based on the Twelfth Night. Tickets prices are $15 for Adults and $12 for Seniors and Students and are available by calling the 24/7 Dance Studio box office at 301-846-4247. "So You Think You Can 24/7" Recital Update Booklets: We are already very busy preparing for recital. Each family will be assigned a "SYTYC 24/7! 2010" Recital Booklet in mid-March. Your family must have an adult (18+) sign out a Booklet. These Booklets will contain vital information such as: important dates and times, procedures,helpful information, forms and much more! Some of the information is time sensitive. Please make sure you take the time to come into the studio to get your packet in March. Music: Recital Music for your child's dance class will be available for purchase at the front desk beginning in mid February. Songs are $4 for the first song and $1 for each additional song. This is a great way for your child to practice for the recital and helps to make them comfortable with the music. Forms will be available at the front desk by the end of January! (Please allow 1 week for completion). Volunteers Needed: There are many volunteer opportunities for each Recital Show. Each childrens class (typically 9 yrs and under) must have a class mom volunteer. Please check the bulletin board at the dance studio to ensure that your class has a class mom for recital. If no one has signed up by the end of April for Hagerstown/end of May in Frederick,someone will be randomly selected. Sorry no Dads are allowed to be class volunteers due to children changing clothes, but there are other jobs for Dads to do. All volunteers are able to enjoy the show at no charge. There is special front row volunteer seating, one of the best seats in the house for you to enjoy your child's performance if you volunteer! Costumes: Recital costumes have already begun arriving and some may not arrive until April. Students will be trying on the costumes in class as they arrive to make sure all the pieces are present. Teachers will report major costume issues to the front desk. It is your responsibility to have costumes altered if needed. Each costume company recommends the best size based on your child's measurements. Please keep costumes hung neatly and keep all accessories with the costume. There will be label on each costume bag stating which tights, shoes, hairstyles and accessories are needed and which show they are performing in. Longaberger/Vera Bradley Bingo Our next Basket Bingo will be held on February 28. Tickets are on sale now at the front desk, and are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Call the studio at 301-846-4247 to get your tickets in advance. The games start at 2pm and the doors will open at 12:30pm at the Jefferson Ruritan Club in Jefferson, MD. Persons who have a pre-paid ticket will receive 5 free raffle tickets! We hope to see you there. Proceeds benefit Dance Fusion and the Young Professionals. Daddy Dance It's back by popular demand! Quickly becoming a 24/7 favorite It's the DADDY DANCE! Volunteer Studio Dads will be performing on stage at the "So You Think You Can 24/7!" Recital. Look for the sign up sheets on the bulletin board this month so your Dad can show his talent! 24/7 Spirit Week! Show your spirit! Join us for Spirit Week. Each days' theme is below. Get in on the fun! Monday - Decade Day Haiti Shoe Drive We are collecting gently used shoes through February 15 to be sent to the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. Please tie/bind them together and put them in the box in the lobby. Thank you for donating. Attendance Policy As the recital approaches, it is important that your child makes every effort to attend class. As of February 1st, if your child misses more than 3 classes during the spring session, they may forfeit participation in the recital! Each class will start working on their individual recital pieces starting in February. A portion of each class will be devoted to the recital dance and that makes your child's attendance very important! Make-up classes will no longer be allowed after the end of January. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU BRING YOUR CHILD TO CLASS ON TIME! Policies regarding tardiness/attendance are as follows: POLICIES: 1. 2 times late = 1 absence 2. 2 times leaving early = 1 absence 3. 2 times watching = 1 absence If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the front desk in Frederick at 301-846-4247 or Hagerstown at 301-766-4247. Make-Up and Snow Policies Our schedule is based upon 34 week program in Frederick and 32 weeks in Hagerstown as stated in our Course Catalog. Due to the way that holidays fall, most days get more than their 34/32 classes in the year. Due to this fact, in the case of inclement weather, classes will only be made up if the class falls below the 34/32 week guarantee. A message will be posted on the studio answering machine by 8am for morning classes and 2pm for evening classes if the studio needs to close. We will also send out an email to notify you of cancellations. Please remember, we do not follow the public school systems weather related decisions. Hair Ties We are now charging .25 cents for a hair tie in an effort to encourage your child to keep one in her dance bag. Our teachers are having problems with needing to send the kids out of classrooms to get their hair secured away from their face. We would appreciate your help in keeping your child in class. Incentive Program Referral Incentive 24/7 Dance Studio will be offering a Referral Incentive for all of our dance families. You will receive a one time credit on your account of $20 for each family that has never attended 24/7 Dance Studio and registers and remains in dance for the entire year. They must include your name on their registration form. You will receive this credit on your last installment payment or before if you've referred more than your last installment amount. Free Tuition Contest If you have the most referrals under the criteria listed above (with a minimum of 10), you will be entered into a drawing and you could receive FREE TUITION for the 2010-2011 dance year. This is a value of up to $2000! (no cash value, cannot be carried over, refunded, transferred) Magnet Contest Our staff will be on the lookout for 24/7 magnets/stickers around town beginning in August 2009. If your car is spotted by staff displaying our 24/7 car magnet or sticker, they will take down your license plate (or name if they know you). Your name/plate number will be entered into a drawing to be drawn on April 1, 2010 for $50 credit toward your last installment payment of the year. Watch for your plate number/name to be posted at the studio. 24/7 Is Digital!! Newsletters are now distributed digitally via email. Please make sure you have a valid email address on file with the front desk. Please note that we do not sell or share your email address with anyone. There will be paper newsletters available here at the dance studio in our brochure display rack for your convenience as well. |
